Daily Wear SPF vs. Sportswear SPF
Daily wear spf- 15+ (think prevention)
Advising reapplication of daily wear spf is simply not realistic and, furthermore, overkill . Daily wear spf is for your day to day routine.
For example, like going to work, dropping the kids off at school, walking down your driveway to the mailbox and back. Daily wear spf is meant to be worn when you are indoors for the majority of the day with No extended time spent outside.
Like, who is going to reapply spf over makeup? Are you going to reapply sunscreen when you’re spending a total of 5-15 minutes outside for the entirety of the day? Give me a break.
Additionally, to answer the question, ‘Is Spf in my makeup enough?’ The answer is no.
Sportswear spf- 30+ (think protection)
Sportswear spf is to be used and reapplied if you plan on being in the sun for 30+ minutes at a time.
When you plan on being outdoors, a sports sunscreen needs to be worn. A daily wear spf is not formulated to be powerful enough to withstand outdoor environments.
Ideally, I recommend a stick sunscreen for the face, as it is easiest, not messy, quick and makes the most sense. Any sunscreen is better than none, however, a cream application as opposed to a spray sunscreen is able to withstand for longer periods of time.
