Three (3) Over The Counter Creams Every Household Should Have.

  1. Hydrocortisone Cream

Hydrocortisone cream, not ointment – this is a steroid cream. Steroid creams are meant to alleviate inflammation like redness or swelling. This cream is a go for an itchy bug bite, an onset of hives, and allergic reaction of some sort, and in a pinch – even a zit.

  2. Antibiotic Ointment

Apply antibiotic ointment to a cut, a scratch, dry/crusty and inflamed nostrils, or a pimple you picked that has left the skin raw and 'exposed'.

  3. Scar Cream (Silicone base)

Apply to the obvious, a skin trauma that has the potential to scar. Silicone based scar cream can be used on a variety of issues that cause the skin to become compromised. For example, apply to cracked or chapped skin on the lips, hands, or heels for a quick resolve. Apply sparingly to really dry upper or lower eyelids for some relief or skin that's on the mend from a chemical peel or a microneedling treatment.
